Summer is almost here, and Humane Indiana is ready to make it unforgettable for local kids who love animals! Their popular animal-themed day camps are returning to the Munster Shelter and Adoption Center (421 45th St.), offering fun-filled learning for children ages 6–11.

Running every other week from June 9 through August 8, each camp session runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and costs $175 per camper. With a variety of engaging themes—from “Pet Professionals” to the ever-popular “Animal Art”—campers will explore pet care, animal-related careers, and more.
“These camps are enriching for everyone involved,” says Jessica Petalas, Senior Director of Shelter & Clinic Operations. “It’s so rewarding to see young animal lovers learn, grow, and get inspired.”
This year’s camp schedule includes:
June 9 – 13: Animal Art
June 23 – 27: Our Favorite Pets
July 7 – 11: Pet Professionals
July 21 – 25: Pet Care Week
August 4 – 8: Animal Art (second session!)
“There’s something for every animal-loving kid, and spots are still available—but they go fast!” adds Lindsay Stirn-McAllister, Shelter Services Liaison.
